Opening a New Chapter: SEOMA Language Worlds

Friends,

Today I’d like to share a decision that excites me and, I’m sure, will interest all of us. We’re launching SEOMA Language Worlds—a connected foreign-language course from level A1 to C2, delivered entirely inside our virtual worlds.

Why This Matters

Live context you can’t get on a “flat” screen.
A virtual café, train station, or doctor’s office lets you use phrases immediately in near-real situations. The brain memorises words more easily when they’re anchored to action and emotion.

Constant, stress-free feedback.
An avatar-teacher listens to your speech, gives hints on the spot, and gently corrects mistakes. Learners aren’t afraid to speak: in front of them is not a strict examiner but a friendly “digital partner.”

A complete pathway along the CEFR.
Most apps offer a set of disconnected dialogues. We build a roadmap: six levels, and every mission covers a specific CEFR “can-do” descriptor (for example: can order a drink). This way learners clearly see how they climb the ladder step by step.

Proof of Demand

  • The online-language market is growing at double-digit rates: even 0.1 % market share translates into tens of millions of euros in revenue.
  • Virtual learning is accelerating even faster, and the “full VR course” niche is almost empty.
  • Experience from colleagues at Mondly VR and Immerse shows that people are willing to pay for immersive lessons, yet they’re currently offered only one or two topics with no clear programme.

We, by contrast, offer a complete learning line and a hybrid mode: anyone can start through a regular browser, while those who want full immersion can put on a headset.

How We’ll Measure Success (Telemetry)

Every scene is “tagged” with a skill. When a learner, for instance, says “Buenos días, quiero un café,” the system records:

  • which descriptor is being tested;
  • how long the learner hesitated;
  • on which attempt the phrase was said correctly.

These data flow into a dashboard:

  • we can see where a learner “stumbles” and which skills are already mastered;
  • the team quickly understands which lines need simplification and where to add challenge.

Thus we’re building the product not on hunches but on live numbers.

Near-Term Plan

Sprint 1 (1 – 14 June)

  • Mini showcase of the world (lobby and three portals)
  • “Café” lesson at A1 level
  • Basic avatar with facial expressions
  • First telemetry events and a simple dashboard

1 July — public release of version 0.1.

By year-end we’ll fully cover level A1, enrol our first paying learners, and expand the team.

This is just the beginning of a long journey, but our foundation is already solid: a world factory, avatar generator, multiplayer functionality, and AI experience. Now we need to fill the platform with living lessons and propel SEOMA to the forefront of the new learning format.

Thank you all for your contributions—there’s plenty of work ahead, but also a vast space for creativity.

Let’s go!
